“Today at 10:15am the Mersey Hospital became the first federal funded hospital for Tasmania,” said Mark Baker MP Federal Member for Braddon. “Today is an historic day not only for the Mersey Hospital but for health services around the country. “Now, as a federal funded hospital we will commence rebuilding the Mersey. The future is exciting and contacting the Doctors from around the country who want to be part of this new era will commence,” said Mark Baker MP. “I am pleased that I could deliver this to the people of Braddon prior to election day and to dispel the sick tactics of the Labor candidates’ team here in Braddon who have door knocked our more vulnerable and informed our seniors that this was not going to happen. “Whilst I will tolerate their blatant misrepresentation of the truth with regards our IR policy, being so low as to conduct a scare campaign around the district is beyond contempt for both the staff of the Mersey who have worked so hard towards this outcome and the people of Braddon. “There are so many opportunities for our local health services now and the people of Braddon have a much more positive future,” said Mark Baker MP. - ENDS -
